development program / creation lab

the mini-lab

In our second lab, we’ll be joining forces with movement artists and creative experts from various fields to create innovative movement-based products that the market needs.

Here, we have the opportunity to tap into what moves us. We will lay foundations and build bridges that connect us to new industries, practices, and audiences. Driven by a common desire to move people, we will come out of this workshop with new skills, insights, and a fresh framework for innovation and creative thinking.

program

Phase 1: Ideate: TBC

We begin leveraging our passions and beliefs by engaging in creative-thinking questions and exercises in relation to dance and movement. With this information, we form into groups and devise the concepts for our prototypes.

Phase 2: Design: TBC

After ideation, comes engineering and design. In this session, the teams walk through their experiences focusing on profitability, accessibility and sustainability - giving the collective group a chance to test, question, and propose.

Phase 3: Pilot TBC

During the pilot phase, teams get to test their experiences with an external audience. The goal here is to share the experiments with others outside of the mini-lab in order to gather on-the-ground information, to later tweak and enhance the prototypes as needed.

Phase 4: Pitch: TBC

We wrap up the mini-lab with a presentation and evaluation session, where we help each other further identify what works and what needs further tweaking in order to maximize impact. It is here where we identify which designed experiences are ready for an exciting next phase: entering the market.

Life has a lot to do with timing. Our first creative lab was meant to kick off on October 19 - two days into the October Revolution in Lebanon. Instinctively agile, we adapted to the changing reality. 17 of us came together to design experiences in close relation to the Revolution. Our aim was to create impact through the body. We shaped the experiences in such a way as to become programs and products that embody the power of movement in innovative ways. Take a look. read more >
